Step 1: The First Mosaic

On a Friday during a lunch break 10 years ago I decided that the next day I would finally teach myself how to do a mosaic.  I walked into a tile shop, purchased some tiles (plus the storeman gave me some second hand ones), a special tool set, tile glue and grout. Then a quick trip to spotlight to purchase a mirror base.

That weekend, through trial and error, I created my first mosaic.

Lesson learned: Different types of tile have different hardness, making some much more difficult to cut into shape without shattering.
