Medieval and Antiquity Inspired Art
“Isabeau Design” is a series of artworks using mixed media techniques which are highly texturised. Isabeau Design is inspired by one of Ellen's favourite movies, “Ladyhawke”, which is set in medieval times and involves knights, Friesians, damsels in distress, wolves and castles. The Isabeau collection comprises two subcollections.
The Encore Collection is named after Encore, Ellen's friesian mare, and based on medieval themes (what’s more medieval then the Friesian knight’s horse?). The artworks are based on the interactions of turquoise and yellow ochre on a variety of textures.
The Cleopatra Collection is named after Cleo, Ellen’s cat, who is by far the most spoiled animal on the farm. The Cleopatra Collection are mixed media artworks using yellow ochre/ umber monotones and antiquity images.
