Dogmatix Designs refers to all the animal paintings Ellen has done in the past 10 years, including commissions. This collection is named after Dogmatix, a very clever border collie who assists on the farm by rounding up the cattle (and chickens), protecting Ellen from snakes and making sure all the other animals are behaving themselves. It has been suggested that he does not consider himself to be a dog as he seems to understand the English language too well, requiring certain words to be spelled to avoid excitement (e.g. snake and rat). He recently alerted Ellen in the middle of the night that Cleo had allowed a snake into the house by opening a screen window.
